According to multiple sources, Representative Zent plans on winning re-election in November, then retiring to spend more time in Florida. Upon his retirement, he and his friends in the local Republican party plan on appointing Jim Getz the Indiana House, District 51 seat. Instead of retiring now, and allowing voters to decide who will represent them in the Statehouse, a backroom deal has apparently been brokered in order to maintain control and silence voters.
We live in a democracy, not a monarchy where positions are handed down to those not elected. Constituents deserve to know who they are voting for, and what arrangement has been made. I challenge both Rep Zent and Mr. Getz to pledge to complete their terms of office if elected. If they are unwilling to do so, they don’t deserve the honor of holding public office.

Mr. Zent, my family has voted for you in multiple elections. Our kids attend Prairie Heights. Your support of this bill has upset many, many parents in the area. Very disappointing.
I’m embarrassed that I voted for Denny Zent. I believed he would have our backs. I’m embarrassed that I got duped.
This proposed legislation is an embarrassment to the state of Indiana and to our nation as a whole.
I’m a registered republican and after seeing the way this education bill has been handled there is no way I’ll be voting for you.
Teachers have enough to worry about without having to worry what legislators are going to tell them they can and cannot teach next. I can’t support anyone who supports this.
I’ve never voted Democrat in my life, but am considering changing that. This current group of Congress critters is infected with Trumpism and following way too much far-right media for my tastes. Thought you were better than that, Denny.
His continued votes to increase funding for vouchers and for profit schools have hurt ALL Steuben County schools. He doesn’t care. He only cares about doing what his party tells him to do. He should move to Marion County.
Indiana following the footsteps of the well-educated states of Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, etc.. Republicans have turned school board meetings into circuses (often by residents with no kids in school) pushing crazed right-wing conspiracies about CRT. Soon they will ban all discussions of slavery and the holocaust to protect their precious little snowflakes. Here is an idea. If you don’t like subjects taught in public schools, homeschool.
I don’t have kids or live in the state but love all the liberal teers. Go Denny! Trump 2024!
Wow, spent my life being a Conservative and faithfully voting Republican only to see my party become a cult worshipping at the feet of a discount tyrant. Concerned not about our country but the fragile ego of one man. Pathetic. May God help us all.
Just donated to your ActBlue, Jestin. Thanks for holding Denny accountable and good luck!
